PLEASE READ!

This is Pelos. He was a normal beautiful, fun and feisty cat. This sunday he got hit by a car.

He has no fractures and damaged internal organs on his body.
He however was hit in the head and has major head trauma.

We first sent him to the emergency animal care place closest to us where they diagnosed him as a lost cause with in the first few hours.

After he made it through the night we moved him to a different hospital where they said he had a fair chance at life.

My beautiful baby boy can barely move, but he recognizes our voices and he closes his eyes and leans into us when we pet him. He moves his paws when he’s unhappy or when he wants something and he knows when things are happening around him.

However because of his open mouth breathing while being on a feeding tube they suspect some liquid has gone to his lungs and caused some pneumonia.

We’re still hoping for recovery as he is and always was a strong fighting cat. W

hile he slowly, some small neurological recoveries, the medicine and treatment that is keeping him alive and making sure that he makes it through is extremely expensive.

To keep Pelos for 48 hours is about $1,000. Although my family has a small amount of savings we are running low and Pelos needs time to heal.

I’m willing to do anything for my cat.
So I’ll be selling some of my figurines, wigs, and cosplays.

I also do art commissions, traditional and digital. If anyone is interested in this I’ll make a post for it.

PELOS UPDATE:

Pelos, who was hit by a car on sunday, has become responsive!

He’s now attempting to sit up! And can now use the bathroom on his own, although he doesn’t always make it to the litter box.

Unfortunately he doesn’t want to eat. He does show interest however they have a suspicion that he is blind and because he wanders to the left, he can’t really sit up and is confused by how to eat.

Today they are going to put in a semi-permanent feeding tube in his esophagus so we may take him home this weekend and give him supportive care at home.

We will have to keep him as an outpatient for the next few months and hopefully he continues to improve.

Our bill however is insane and is in the low 4000’s
